A protestor said that the ‘ Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine board’ has introduced the number system for the pithuwalas so that the devotees should suffer less while booking the horses/mules ,as earlier when the devotees use to book the ponies from them they were charged extra money by the pithuwalas .

He further said that the strike by the horse labourers will only take toll on their work and also on the pilgrims who are going to visit the Vaishno Devi Temple.

“What they will eat if they stop their work, and in turn this is also affecting the coming pilgrims here, which we cant tolerate”, he said.

He added that the number system is placed  when the Shrine board assess the short comings, which the devotees mentioned to them and then after that they took this decision of placing numbers on the carrying turns of the pithuwalas to the temple.

“CEO Anshul Garg Vaishno Mata Devi Shrine and the honourable LG sir has taken this decision to provide more facilities to the Yatris, so keeping in view the devotees they should suspend their strike as soon as possible”, he further added.
