Jammu, 13 August: In an another astonishing incident a woman hanged herself due to dowry harassment in Bantalab, Jammu.
The 23 year old took this extreme step after facing month long harassment because of dowry demand at the hands of her in-laws and husband.
Her relatives and parents held a protest today at Bantalab, Jammu in front of her husband’s residence, demanding immediate arrest of her husband and in-laws.

The brother of the deceased allegedly said that they got married the deceased seven months ago to her husband and since from that day she is being harassed by her in-laws in the name of dowry.
He further said that they are poor but still they arranged everything for her wedding ceremony so that her in-laws don’t disturb her later after marriage.
“They killed my daughter and her in-laws and her husband has forced her to take this extreme step, she cannot hang herself”, her mother said.
Continuing she said that they want immediate arrests of all those who are involved behind the murder of their daughter.
Yesterday the people of Jammu celebrated Raksha Bandha and today a brother lost her sister, it is an appeal to the SSP Jammu to take cognizance of this matter so that justice can be deliever to this family, the reporter said.
