Samba, 13 August: A Central University Jammu (CUJ) scholar who was washed away from the road in floodwater in Samba’s Raya area on Thursday morning was found dead, yesterday.
The deceased has been identified as Harsh Mitra resident of West Bengal who was pursuing phd in chemistry from CUJ. He got washed away when he was attempting to cross the flooded road in order to reach the university.

He was also warned by the local residents of the area, but paying no heed to their advise he went ahead on his bike to cross the waterlogged road and got washed away by the flash floods which occurred on the scene at that time, as per the report
As soon he was washed away, the State disaster response force (SDRF) and local police was called for the help by the locals and yesterday the rescue teams retrived his body after strenuous efforts, while his bike was found near the drain by the local residents, the report said.
