Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accused Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) of crushing democratic aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir by delaying Assembly elections in a prolonged manner.
AAP spokesman from Srinagar, Hakeem Rizwan Elahi said this while addressing a press conference. He expressed serious concern towards a recent notice of election authorities which clearly indicates further delay of Assembly elections in J&K.
He stated that by further delaying the elections, BJP is depriving people of J&K of electing their own democratic Government. Hakeem said, “BJP is trying to run J&K through its bureaucratic setup which can never be an alternative to democratic Government as only a democratic Government can fulfill aspirants of people and bureaucrats can never replace elected representatives.
The AAP spokesperson said that due to Government’s prolonged bureaucratic rule in J&K, every section of the society is getting cornered and especially youth are feeling depressed with education and healthcare sector worst affected by bureaucratic rule.
