Jammu: In a drive against the sale of banned synthetic threads (manja) various raids were conducted in different locations by Jammu Police.
An information was received at PP Chowk Chabutra regarding sale of banned synthetic threads. On this special police teams of PP Chowk Chabutra under the supervision of SDPO North Sharad Kalu were constituted. The team led by SHO PS Pacca Danga Inspr Raghubir Singh assisted by I/C PP Chowk Chabutra PSI Jyoti Choudhary raided at the said place near Dhak-khana chowk and rounded up a suspect who was selling banned Chinese Manja in the area under the jurisdiction of PS Pacca Danga. During search, 30 bundles of Chinese Manja (Gattu) were recovered from his possession.
In this regard Docket sent to P/S Pacca Danga for registration of FIR and accused got arrested. The arrest was made in violation of DM order regarding ban on sale of plastic/synthetic threads (manja). The arrested person was later identified as Ajay Singh Chib S/o Subash Singh Chib R/o H.no 855 Janipur colony near tri-murthi mandir jammu
It is requested to the general public to inform at the nearest Police station/ Police Post regarding sale of synthetic threads (manja). Moreover general public is informed not to buy or sale such synthetic threads (manja).
