In the last 24 hours India reported 19,893 new Covid-19 cases, according to the Union health ministry data. With this, the country’s total tally of COVID-19 rose to 4,40,87,037.
India’s death toll rose to 5,26,530 ; with 53 deaths in the past 24 hours.
At present, India has 1,36,478 active coronavirus cases. While a total of 20,419 people recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries in the country to 4,34,24,029.
As per health ministry, the active cases comprise 0.31 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate stood at 98.50 per cent.
The daily positivity rate was recorded as 4.94 percent and the weekly positivity rate as 4.64 per cent. According to the ministry, 205.22 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
