Jammu, 3 August: A harrowing incident has been reported today from Bagh-e-bahu’s Kacha Talab, Jammu in which a woman self-immolated herself.
According to the report, a woman named Priya, a resident of Kacha Talab, Jammu has taken an extreme step of setting herself ablaze owing to continuous tribulations from her in-laws, she has sustained 40 percent burn injuries and shifted to GMC hospital for further treatment.
Her mother alleged that on routine basis she used to call her daughter to know her well-being but when she called  her yesterday, there was no response and she was rather told by her in-laws that they have taken her to Peer Mitha for a check- up.

She further continued that when she heard about the mentioned place she felt dizzy as only those who suffer burn injuries use to visit the place. After one hour she reached there and saw that her daughter has received severe injuries on her body due to the immolation and in the morning they shifted her to GMC, Bakshi Nagar.
Another family member of the victim told that the family has taken huge loan for this marriage ceremony and they are still paying the installments. Her in-laws has been torturing her from long time, thereby causing her to take such extreme step.
The family demanded stringent action against her in-laws as soon as possible.
