JAMMU, 2 August: In a drive against the sale of banned synthetic threads (manja) various raids were conducted in different locations by Jammu Police.
An information was received at police post Chowk Chabutra regarding sale of banned synthetic threads. On this special police teams of PP Chowk Chabutra under the supervision of SDPO North Sharad Kalu were constituted. The team was led by SHO Pacca Danga ,Inspr. Raghubir Singh who assisted PSI Jyoti Choudhary in raiding the suspected places and while rounding up the suspect they arrested him who was selling banned Chinese Manja in the area under the jurisdiction of PS Pacca Danga and during the search, 245 bundles of Chinese Manja (Gattu) were recovered from his possession.
On this case FIR No.91/2022 U/s 188 IPC was registered at P/S Pacca Danga against the accused and his arrest was made in violation of DM order regarding ban on sale of plastic/synthetic threads (manja).
The arrested person was later identified as Paramdeep Singh S/o Mohinder Singh R/o H.NO.280 Old Rehari Jammu.
It is requested to the general public to inform at the nearest Police station/ Police Post regarding sale of synthetic threads (manja). Moreover general public is informed not to buy or sale such synthetic threads (manja).
