Hundreds of daily wagers of the Jal Shakti (PHE) Department under PHE United Front Samba staged a massive protest rally in Samba in support of their long pending demand regarding regularization .
Shouting slogans against the LG administration and BJP, the protesting daily wagers were demanding regularization and release of their pending wages .They threatened to further intensify their agitation if there was no response from the Government over their demands.

It’s been more than thirty days since the PHE dailywagers are on a tool-down strike . This is the 32nd day of their protest . They were seen holding the banners of “ Justice for all dailywagers”. The protesting dailywagers said “ since 22nd June we are continuously protesting but the UT administration continue to turn a blind eye to our grave concerns and this has prompted us to intensify our agitation in support of our genuine demand.
It is pertinent to mention that over 60,000 daily wagers, casual labourers and other workers are performing their duties in various departments over the past two decades and are regularly holding protests in both Jammu and Srinagar in support of their long-pending demands including regularisation, implementation of Minimum Wages Act and release of their pending wages.
