In a drive against Chinese Manja (Gattu) sellers subsequent to the order issued by DC Jammu and directions of SSP Jammu, Akhnoor Police arrested two accused persons namely Vijay Kumar S/o Massu Ram R/o Lehar Sungal Tehsil Akhnoor and Rajesh Sharma S/o late Sh. Chaman Lal Sharma R/o ward No. 07, Arya samaj Gali, Tehsil Akhnoor District Jammu and recovered 142 bundles of Chinese Manja (Gattu).
In this regard two cases were registered bearing FIR No. 214/2022 & FIR No. 215/2022 U/s 188 IPC was registered at Police Station Akhnoor and the accused persons have been arrested.
The arrest was made by PSI Manoj Kumar and PSI Zulfiqar under SHO Police Station Akhnoor Hilal Azhar DC Jammu has issued an order U/s 144 Cr.PC wherein selling of Chinese Manja (Gattu) has been banned as the said Manja is endangering the human life which is being used for flying kites. SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial appealed the public not to use, buy or sell Chinese Manja (Gattu) and instead use traditional kite flying thread.
