Poonch July,22: Students staged a protest demonstration against the Education Department for shortage of teaching staff in Suran Kote area of Poonch here today.
The protesting students were seen chanting slogans against the Department for being incapable of providing adequate teaching staff. Director of School Education, Chief Education Officer Poonch and other higher education department officials supported the students in their protest.
They alleged that Govt Higher Secondary School ( Girls) , Suran Kote is facing dearth of lecturers in various streams but the department concerned failed to appoint requisite staff in this school . Students said ” only three classes are held every day , our exams are approaching but the syllabus is still incomplete, the management has completely failed to enroll new teachers”.

Due to acute shortage of the staff, the students are facing a lot of problems regarding their subjects and the department concerned seems least bothered about it and they appealed to the LG administration to increase the enrollment drive and fill the vacant posts as soon as possible.
