J&K : July 21 , 22 :Around 51 couples are getting married in a mass marriage ceremony at Khanyar region of Srinagar.
This “Nikkah Ceremony” is being organised by a foundation named ” We the helping hands foundation” based in Srinagar.
As per the Women’s wing president of Kashmir, nearly 38 mass marriages have already been completed and now the remaining 51 are more to go.

She said, ” as per our verification process these couples are not financially sound and hence are unable to arrange a marriage function on their special day. She said this is the third phase of this noble initiative taken by them as to help those couples who remain unmarried pertaining to these reasons . As the poverty and unemployment remain the main reasons behind the people not getting married. She said , ” we should think of ways to lessen our expenditure on marriages as the Prophet Muhammad has rightly said ” the most blessed nikkah is the one with the least expenses “.
