The residents of Rehari area of Jammu city expressed their opposition to setting up of a garbage dumping site proposed near the historically significant Sheetla Mata Mandir complex in the area on Wednesday.
Hitting out at the corporator of the locality people said that he didn’t even informed us that the JMC ( Jammu Municipal Corporation) is planning this construction in this area .
Opposing the move the residents said , ” it’s an ancient temple and every year we organise a grand mela here but the construction of garbage dumping site near the temple would spoil the aesthetics of the area. People said that the proposed facility will hurt the religious sentiments of people and thus it should be shifted somewhere else as soon as possible.
