Yesterday, Mukesh Singh, ADGP Jammu addressed a press conference in which he shared major information regarding the motives, plan and modules of terrorist Talib Hussain Shah, Lashkar-e-Taiba( LeT) main commander, who was arrested recently by the Rajouri police.
Police on Monday busted a network of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists operating in the Jammu division from the bordering Rajouri and Poonch districts and arrested four associates of this terror outfit besides seizing arms and ammunition.
Furthermore, he said that Talib Hussain Shah alias Abu Ahmad, a resident of Draj and LeT’s main commander from Rajouri was instrumental in carrying -out major terrorist activities and strikes in the areas of Rajouri-Poonch over the past three years .
He further said that with the arrest of Talib and his associates, various cases viz; Targain murder case, Kotranka blast, firing on Ranjeet Singh in which he lost his kid , the Jhuggi grenade case and the Shahpur grenade case have been solved.
He further added “Talib was tasked with carrying- out terror attacks on security forces, minority communities and prominent political figures in the area, and the police Investigation has brought to the fore that Talib was involved in five major incidents of drone dropping and collection in which he received arms, ammunition, explosives and Indian currency from Pakistan.”
He further revealed that Talib also received two groups of terrorists who were transported from Kashmir to Rajouri by his associate Mohammad Shabir of Draj and one of these terrorists, Faisal Ahmad Dar of Pulwama, was apprehended along with Talib, while two other terrorists arrested by the police are resident of Samba and Kathua areas of Jammu.
Interacting further he said that the J&K police till now have busted five terror modules and after arrest of approximately 20-25 terrorists and their associates, the Police succeeded in reaching and seizing the LeT terror sleeper cells who were operating in Rajouri and Poonch. He told that the relatives of the LeT terrorists who were neutralized earlier were approached by these sleeper cells to join them.
He added that Talib is still under interrogation and Police is trying to gather more information about his terror plans which he wanted to carry- out in various regions of Jammu and it has been found that they were also planning to carry- out target killings in the twin districts of Pir-Panjal range.
