A newly constructed road near Surabhi Park in the Vastral area in the Ahmedabad City of Gujarat caved in after a couple of hours of rainfall in the region on Sunday.
A video of the incident capturing the road collapse incident has gone viral on social media platforms.
The road cave-in took place near Pillar no 123 of the metro rail route and the road was reportedly built around a month ago. As a result of the incident, traffic along the route has been affected. However, a major tragedy was averted.
Rains continued to wreak havoc in various parts of Gujarat. Among the worst districts are Valsad and Navsari, where life has come to standstill due to water all over.
