An assistant sub-inspector of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was martyred in a terrorist firing this afternoon when a joint naka party (a checkpost) of the police and the CRPF was attacked.
The attack took place near the Gongoo crossing in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The injured officer was rushed to the hospital where he died.
The area has been cordoned off and efforts are on to trace and arrest the terrorists.
