ASI Thappa told, “ The vehicle operators spend enormous amount of money in obtaining the permits to travel to Amarnath shrine and they complained against the private cars which are travelling without the authorised permit. So, we conducted this inspection to check all the vehicles heading towards Holy Shrine without the permits.”

Further he said, the local hotels work in collaboration with these private vehicles when they reach here. The hotel owners work hand- in -gloves with them and provide them undue and unlawful support.
Moreover, he told that he checked various vehicles and but none of the passengers were aware that a legal permit is required for the vehicles to ply on the road to the Holy Shrine.

He appealed the devotees to inform the police beforehand about the vehicles which do not have permit and ensured that proper action will be taken against such violators.
He further added that the vehicles without proper insurance documents will also not be allowed to ply on the route keeping in view the accident prone areas and unforeseen circumstances.
