The police in Rajouri has arrested a person for sharing a sensitive and objectionable content on social media platform thereby hurting sentiments of people from a section of society.
Police said that an information was received through reliable source that a person namely Imran Mir, son of Manzoor Ahmed, resident of Hasyote, Tehsil Thannamandi deliberately circulated a photograph of a sacrelegious act on social media platform thereby hurting the religious feelings and sentiments of a particular community.
On this, a case in FIR No. 97/2022 U/S 295-A was registered at Police Station Thanamandi and investigation was taken up.
Taking gravity of situation into consideration and sensitivity involved, special teams were constituted to arrest the accused. ” Vital leads were looked into and best possible efforts were made to nab the culprit.” said police.
The accused has been arrested and put behind bars with further legal formalities, investigation is going on, police further said.
SSP Rajouri, Mohammad Aslam said that no one will be allowed to hurt religious sentiments of people from any community.
