Three kids drowned in the river while one was rescued from a river in Mendhar area of Poonch on sunday.
The incident happened when two girls and a boy went to swim in a local river in Mendhar, Poonch yesterday. The kids drowned in the river when the water level rose and in the act of saving each other the girls swept away by high water current, while the boy was rescued by the locals.
The two girls who drowned in the river has been reported missing and are still untraceable, while a search operation has been launched to retrieve their bodies from the river. In taking cognisance of rise in water level, the direction of the river flow has been turned away.
The government has further advised people to avoid using the local water bodies as constant rains has caused high rise in the water level.
