Samba, 8 July: Tightening its noose against the criminals, Vijaypur police launched arrest operation in which they successfully apprehended two members of vehicle lifter gang from Samba who had become nightmare for the locals.
Past many days numerous burglaries have taken place in Samba district and the locals were infested with the fear of these robberies.

According to the sources, Samba police have been looking for the traces of these burglars and was closely examining CCTV footages which helped them in identifying the suspects and now the efforts of Vijaypur and Samba police officers turned into success when they arrested two thieves namely Karanjeet Singh S/o Manjeet Singh and Sandeep Kumar S/o Ashok Kumar both are residents of Khour Deonia village of R S Pura and has recovered five bikes from their possession.
During the interrogation, the burglars confessed that they have stolen these bikes from other areas and have been carrying out snatching incidents in various places of Samba, the report added.
The arrest operation was conducted under the supervision of Priyanka Kumari, SDPO Vijaypur, SHO Vijaypur in collaboration and supervision of Dr Abhishek Mahajan, SSP Samba.The police has requested the locals to come to the Samba police station to retrieve their stolen bikes post verification process.
Last month Samba police conducted a public conference in which they heard out the public grievances and gave assurance that people will soon see the decline in crime rate.
It is evident that these arrests are some of the steps towards reducing the criminal incidents but they have still not nabbed all the criminals nonetheless the police is quite determined and making due efforts to keep such incidents in check.
