Kashmir zone police has posted a tweet in connection with the statement made by former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, where she has sympathised with a terrorist killed during the Shopian Encounter of 20th June .
Referring to a press note the tweet read ,” We have already issued a detailed press note of the #encounter on 20th June, in which #terrorist Showkat along with 03 foreign terrorists got #neutralised. Besides, his involvement in #terror related activities was also shared”.
” The killed terrorists included 03 Pakistani terrorists identified as Bambar Khan , Al-Bakash, Aftab Bhai of proscribed terror outfit LeT and a local terrorist Showket Ahmed Sheikh , resident of Sedow Shopian on whose disclosure the said operation was conducted . It is pertinent to mention here that he was the mastermind behind an IED blast in a private vehicle at Sedow , Shopian in which one soldier was martyred and other was injured ” , the press note read .
The press note further stated ” Incriminating
materials , arms/ammunition including 02 AK – series rifles , 06 AK magazines, 01 M-4 rifle along with 01 magazine and 03 love grenades were also recovered from their possession “.
