Rs 1.65 crore have been looted from a private bank in Kathua.
The incident took place at a branch of HDFC Bank in the Hatli Morh area on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.
Police have formed an SIT to probe the crime and took the guard into custody for questioning.
CCTV footage of the bank is being scanned to identify the accused.
Further investigation is underway.
