Congress leaders from J&K registered a heavy protest in Kathua district against the Enforcement Directorate for questioning Rahul Gandhi in connection with National Herald case.

Party workers raised slogans against the union government by holding banners and placards. Present during the protest , J&K Youth Congress president said, that this investigation is completely baseless as the Indian judiciary had already given a clean chit to Rahul Gandhi in this case seven years back. He further said that this investigation is just aimed at torturing and harrassing him ( Rahul Gandhi).

Congress leaders across the country are staging protest against ED issuing summons to party leader Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald money-laundering case.

He ( Rahul Gandhi) had spent almost 30 hours with the ED sleuths from Monday to Wednesday during which he was questioned and his statement recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The probe pertains to alleged financial irregularities in Young Indian Private Limited, promoted by the Congress, that owns the National Herald newspaper. The newspaper is published by Associated Journals Limited (AJL) and owned by Young Indian.

The protesting leaders said that the main agenda of the union government is to divert the attention of people from serious issues concerning the nation such as skyrocketing inflation on a daily basis and increasing unemployment among the youth of the nation.
