Security forces averted a major tragedy when they detected and defused a 15Kg Improvised explosive device (IED) in Pulwama on Thursday, police said.
Police said “two terror associates involved in this terror crime have also been arrested and case registered”.
Police and security forces averted a major tragedy when they recovered 15 Kg IED planted by militants in village Amrullah Litter area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Soon after the IED was detected on the road side at Litter area , a bomb disposal squad (BDS) was called which defused it successfully.
The security forces had cordoned off the area and traffic was suspended on the road before the IED was successfully defused.
“Had the IED not been detected and defused, it could have caused major damage”, a police official said.
No one was injured, they said.
