A few days ago police had issued a final reminder regarding affixation of mandatory High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) on the vehicles by June 15. Acting upon the same, Lakhanpur traffic police launched a special drive to challan vehicles which didn’t had HSRP affixed on their vehicles .

A total of 20 such vehicles were seized by the police . One of the police official requested the motorists to adhere to the guidelines mandating HSRP on each vehicle and strictly follow Motor Vehicle Act 1988.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has made it mandatory for all vehicle owners to fix a high-security registration plate (HSRP) and colour-coded plate on their vehicles. The fine for not affixing HSRP plate on a vehicle can range from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000.
