In view of the law and order problem that erupted after some objectionable posts went viral on social media hurting the sentiments of a particular community, the district administration said that the situation in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir is under control.

“Restrictions imposed last week under section 144, have been lifted on Monday in the entire of the district except Bhaderwah town,” Deputy Commissioner Vikas Sharma said.
He along with Abdul Qayoom, SSP Doda reviewed the law and order situation across the district and also conducted rounds of Doda town.

SDM Thatri and SDM Gandoh, along with police officers also conducted several meetings with different sections of society within their respective jurisdictions.

The DC urged the locals to maintain communal harmony, tranquility, peace, besides asked not to indulge in any activity having potential of breaching law and order situation.
Markets were opened in Doda, Thatri and Gandoh markets and people across all sections of society expressed their happiness over the removal of restrictions.

They appealed to all to maintain communal harmony and belief.
However, the situation in Bhaderwah is also normal and the situation is continuously being assessed, he added.
