A tweet by a UPSC aspirant named Rajat Sambyal is getting widely shared on social media. Sadly, Rajat didn’t got through this exam but he stays optimistic and believes that life holds something else and more special than this for him.
The tweet reads , ” 10 years of hard work ended in ashes , 6 UPSC attempts over , 3 times prelims failed , 2 times mains failed .
In my last attempt , yesterday I succumbed due to low score in interview, missed by 11 marks . And still I rise “.
While talking to Ashish Kohli, Senior Journalist JK Media he said , ” I was 100% sure that I will be sailing through as I had given my best to the exam . So I was very optimistic about it. But the day the result came my name was not on the list. As everyone, initially , I too had a setback as I was very hopeful but failed to made it to the list”. He added , ” then there is a reserved list in UPSC , around 50 to 60 candidates fall in this list every year , only if they fall very close to the cutt-off marks “.
He said that he waited for the reserved list and by evening the score card was released where his margin was around 11 marks , which made it difficult for him to get into the reserve list even. He described about his journey of UPSC so far , regarding all the ups and downs he faced during the preparation. He said that he started preparing for the IAS when he was in his second year in college.
” For this year I had strategised my plan for the exam but even after putting in so much of hard work wasn’t able to sail through . But am not going into depression , I wish to tell that I am not going into any negative zone . I am being optimistic that if not UPSC then there might be something else more good life has for me ” .
