In pursuit to spread traffic awareness among public regarding obeying traffic rules Traffic Police, Jammu in collaboration with NSS volunteers of GGM Science college organised a traffic awareness drive at three locations i .e. Jewel Chowk, Canal Road and Maheshpura.

College students actively participated in the drive and conveyed the message of obeying traffic rules, wearing helmets to ensure safety of all drivers on the road . They even stopped those riding without helmets , seatbelts or the vehicles which didn’t had High Security Registration Plates affixed. Volunteers spreaded awareness regarding wearing of helmets by pilian riders and seatbelts by co passengers.
According to RTA officials, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) made it mandatory for all vehicle owners to fix a high-security registration plate (HSRP) and colour-coded plate on their vehicles. The fine for not affixing HSRP plates is around ₹2000. While the fine for not wearing seatbelt by the driver and the fellow passenger stands at ₹1000 both , for riding without helmet the fine is again ₹1000 ( for pilian riders also).
Students were also awared regarding E- challans.
