Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Chowki Choura, Virender Gupta with the assistance of Dr. Raman Jandyal, Tehsildar and other members of Revenue Team retrieved 10 kanal and two Marla of State land falling under Roshni scheme under Khasra No. 967.
The retrieved land is situated on Jammu-Poonch National Highway 144-A at prime location in Chowki Choura and is approximately valued in crores of rupees.
As the encroacher tried to cause obstructions but with the help of accompanying Police personnel as well as due to sensitisation of the SDM, the issue was resolved peacefully and the land was retrieved successfully.
Thereafter, the SDM directed for immediate fencing of the retrieved land to prevent any further encroachment.
Meanwhile, during a visit at Panchayat Chowki, the SDM and accompanying Revenue Team along with the concerned Sarpanch resolved the long pending issue of 3-Phase electrification of Ward No.1 of village Tilla of the Panchayat and got the requisite number of electric poles to ensure proper voltage supply till tail-end household of the Panchayat.
