The prices of dairy products have seen a hike in the Jammu division benefitting large number of dairy farmers and sellers in the region.

The Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution department of the UT convened a meeting with the dairy association of Jammu to fix the new prices of dairy items like milk, curd and cheese. New rates are as follows :
Cow’s milk – ₹48 per litre
Buffalo’s milk – ₹60 per litre
Cheese – ₹ 290 per kg
It has been decided that this meeting should be held after every six months.
The association also urged the JKMPCL to increase the milk procurement price otherwise they will go for a strike outside the JKMPCL headquarters.
