The PHE daily rated workers and employees have decided to observe 24-hour strike on May 28 and 29.
Talking to media-persons here today, senior members of PHE Employees United FrontRajinder Singh, Ravi Hans, Hoshiar Singh, Navdeep and Mohan Lal Sharma said that despite several protests, strikes and representations to the senior officers, the issues of PHE/ Jal Shakti department have remained unresolved.
They pointed out that PHE Employees United Front is demanding regularization of daily rated/ consolidated workers besides release of their pending wages. They are also demanding Rs 10 lakh assistance for the retired workers and job for their family member. The main two issues have remained unaddressed despite assurances several times.
Taking serious note of indifferent attitude of the authorities, the United Front of the employees and workers have decided to observe Kam Chhor Hartal for 24 hours from May 28 to May 29. The strike will start from 8 pm on May 28 and shall culminate at 8 pm the next day.
They said the issue was even taken up with the Lt Governor and his Advisors, but no decision has been taken about their fate. If needed, the United Front would declare indefinite strike, they added.
They appealed all the heads of the districts and blocks of the PHE Employees United Front to observe complete strike in all the water/PJE stations and offices across the region.
