District Magistrate Ramban Mussarat Islam has ordered suspension of Dr Sayeed Majid Malik posted in CHC Batote. A case has also been registered against the doctor at Police Station Ramban.

According to the order, several SOS calls were received at the Deputy Magistrate Ramban office from patients and attendants at CHC Batote regarding the absence of newly posted Consultant Surgeon Dr Sayeed Majid Malik from official duties.

The whereabouts of Dr Sayeed Majid Malik was sought from BMO Batote. On inquiry about Dr Malik absence telephonically, the said doctor used abusive and un-parliamentary language with lady BMO Dr Osmani Saudi.

The BMO brought the matter into the notice of Deputy Magistrate Ramban. The attitude of the said doctor was contrary to the character of an officer, who should display the highest degree. The matter of the misconduct of the said doctor was immediately referred to Station House Officer Ramban with the direction to register an FIR under relevant sections of law against the said doctor and an FIR Number 183/2022 under Sections 294, 189, 504 and 506 IPC was registered at Police Station Ramban.

“In view of the above and till further enquiry by the higher authorities to proceed against the said doctor under Classification Control and Appeal Rules, 1956, Dr Sayeed Majid Malik, Consultant Surgeon CHC Batote is placed under suspension with immediate effect. He is also declared a persona non grata in District Ramban with the direction to report to the Health and Medical Education Department (Administrative Department), Civil Secretariat Jammu/Srinagar”, the order issued by District Magistrate Ramban Mussarat Islam read.
