A 7-year-old girl named Sarika Bhagat succumbed to death at SMGS Hospital Jammu.
Earlier, she was treated at GMC Jammu for the past month. Her parents took her to GMC after a leg injury, where doctors performed plastic surgery on the affected leg. However, due to medical negligence, the affected area got affected with pus.
Then she was again taken to the hospital, where doctors suggested going for surgery as if left untreated, the infection could spread to other areas of the body.
After the surgery, the girl lost a lot of blood, fell unconscious due to weakness, and eventually died.
