Continuing its campaign against terror funding and terrorist recruitment, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids in different parts of the Kashmir Valley on Saturday. The NIA has seized mobile phones, pen drives, laptops, and some documents in these raids. This is the third raid by the NIA in the Kashmir Valley during the last week. Two days ago also, the NIA searched a madrasa in South Kashmir. And before that, on April 7, the NIA had searched about 11 places.
According to the information received here, around 7 am today, the NIA, with the help of Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF personnel, started raids on the hideouts of people associated with terrorists separatist networks in different parts of the valley.
The officials concerned said that the house of Mushtaq Ahmed Butt in New Fatehpora Colony, Baramulla in North Kashmir and Ali Mohammad Butt in Muradpora Shopian in South Kashmir had been raided. Mushtaq Ahmed is working in the Education Department, and he is involved in the active activists of Jamaat-e-Islami. Apart from this, he has also been allegedly involved in raising financial aid for terrorist organizations and promoting terrorist and jihadi activities.
Ali Mohammad Butt, a resident of Muradpora Shopian, is also considered close to Jamaat Islami. He used to not only recruit new boys but also collect donations for terrorist activities in Kashmir. He was also active in organizing anti-national demonstrations in Kashmir. NIA officials have also questioned the relatives of Mushtaq Ahmed Butt and Ali Mohammad Butt during the search at the house.
The officials concerned said that the NIA has already registered a case in Delhi against the people whose premises were raided today. He said that some people have also been questioned during the raids today, but no one has been arrested.
