To promote entertainment in Jammu and Kashmir, the state government will open mini theatres (Cinemahal) in all the districts. Under ‘Vision J&K’, the government has permitted Manomay and Jadooj to set up mini theatres equipped with modern facilities across the state. This government step will also provide employment opportunities to the local youth. On Wednesday, a formal announcement was made to set up a mini theatre in Jammu.
On this occasion, the founder of Manomay Company, Sushant Sharma, said that Jammu and Kashmir have always been associated with the Hindi cinema world. Actors like Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, and Amitabh Bachchan have loved working here. The Jammu and Kashmir government has permitted both companies to set up 50 mini cinema halls in the state. Each theatre will have a seating capacity of 80 people.
In the first phase, mini theatres will be opened in Katra in the Reasi district of the Jammu division and Nagrota in the Jammu and Kathua district. Except for Jammu, people of any district of the division cannot watch the first show on the first day of the film’s release, but now it will not happen. Instead, people will be able to watch the new film in their district on the very first day itself.
Sushant Sharma, the founder of Manomay Company, said that the ticket price in their mini-theatre would be much less than PVR, but the experience will be at par with PVR. He will also open a theatre hall in the Kashmir division. He said a VR cafe would also be built in the theatre hall. Apart from this, online classes for children can also be organized in this theatre hall.
The mini-theatre will be set up in 11 Marlas (about half a Kanal, i.e. 0.069 acres) of land. Manomay and Jadooj Company will take the land on royalty for ten years to set up the theatre. First, the landowner has to give the basic construction work on this land to the company by making four walls and a roof. After that, the company will make the infrastructure related to theatre construction.
Since the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, the central government and Jammu and Kashmir are continuously encouraging investors in the state. In this episode, this big step has been taken by the government. Its speciality is that this scheme is not only for Jammu or Srinagar but for all the districts. Setting up mini theatres in all the districts will result in an investment of rupees in each district.
Chamber of Commerce President Arun Gupta has welcomed this plan of the government. He said that Jammu’s youth would get employment with this type of effort. Moreover, lakhs of rupees will be invested in constructing a theatre. Arun Gupta and Deputy President of the Press Club of Jammu Zorawar Singh were present as special guests on the occasion of the launch of Mini Theater. While Padmashree Shobhana and renowned Bollywood artist Rannvijay Singh joined the virtual twist.’
