J&K Police claimed to have detained two drug peddlers under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs, and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act in Budgam while arresting another notorious one, Sopore.

Acting tough against drug peddlers, two notorious drug peddlers were detained under the PIT NDPS Act in Budgam and identified as Khalid Hussain Sofi, a resident of Iqbalabad Charar-e-Sharief and Amir Ahmed Ganie of Pujj-Mohalla Chadoora, Police said.

They said that both were arrested for their involvement in drug peddling and have been detained under the PIT NDPS Act through orders issued by the competent authority. Meanwhile, Police arrest a notorious drug peddler in Sopore Township of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and 7 grams of the heroin-like substance.

The accused have been identified as Sajad Ahmad Lone, a resident of Lorihama Rafiabad. A case under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Dangiwacha, and an investigation was set into motion, Police added.
