A record increase in the number of passengers has been registered due to the increased facilities at Jammu Airport. In March, 1.54 lakh passengers travelled from Jammu airport in a record 1364 flights. This is the highest number of flights and passengers in the airport’s history.

Earlier in October 2021, 1.36 lakh passengers had travelled on 1331 flights. With increasing facilities, Jammu Airport is becoming the choice of travellers and airlines companies. In the first three months of 2022, i.e. till March, 376497 passengers have travelled on 3467 flights at the airport.

There has been an increase in the number of passengers and flights at the airport since the Jammu airport’s runway expansion, night flight operations, and removal of load penalties. Talking about the first three months of 2022, 1067 flights and 1.53 thousand passengers travelled in January 1054, and 1.16 thousand passengers in February.

In March 1346, flights and 1.54 lakh passengers travelled by air. The increasing number of passengers is the introduction of direct flights to other cities, including Delhi and Indore, and improvement in the operational process, including introducing an overnight parking facility at Jammu Airport.

In 2021, 12.24 passengers travelled from Jammu Airport, while 12391 flights were operated. A record 1.53 lakh people travelled in December. At the same time, 9.93 lakh passengers travelled in 2020, with 9898 flights operating.

Jammu Airport recorded the highest number of flights and passengers in March. With the increase in facilities at Jammu Airport, the number of passengers is increasing. Ranjan Thakur, Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce Department.
