The Jammu and Kashmir Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2025 was passed in the Legislative Assembly through a voice vote following a brief discussion. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who had moved the Bill earlier in the day, provided clarifications on its key provisions before the House took up the vote. The Chief Minister said the amendment would align the UT’s tax framework with the latest recommendations of the GST Council, ensuring greater compliance and smoother tax administration.
