Baramulla, Jan 9: A soldier lost his life after slipping and falling from a height while heading for night patrol duty in the Sheeri area of Baramulla district, officials said.
The deceased has been identified as Hira Lal, a resident of Haryana, who was posted at the Fathagard Sheeri Camp.
Officials said the soldier accidentally lost his balance and fell from a height, leaving him unconscious. He was rushed to Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The body has been shifted to the GMC Baramulla mortuary for post-mortem examination and other medico-legal formalities. Further proceedings are underway.
