Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to Deliver Sermon from 7:30 PM to Isha; Isha Prayer at 9:00 PM
Srinagar, February 3, 2026: On the auspicious occasion of Shab-e-Barat, Mirwaiz-kashmir Movi Umar Farooq has extended his heartfelt greetings to the Muslim Ummah, especially the people of Jammu & Kashmir. He stated that this blessed night is a moment for deep introspection, sincere repentance (Tawba), seeking forgiveness (Istighfar), and renewing one’s spiritual bond with Almighty Allah. He urged people to dedicate this sacred night to prayers for peace, guidance, and well-being for all.
Meanwhile, Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid Srinagar has informed that the sacred occasion will be observed with full devotion and traditional reverence at Jama Masjid Srinagar on the night of 15th Sha’ban 1447 AH, corresponding to Tuesday, 3rd February 2026, InshaAllah. After Maghrib prayers at 7:30 PM, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq will deliver a sermon highlighting the significance and virtues of Shab-e-Barat, which will be followed by a collective session of Tawba and Istighfar. The Isha prayer will be offered at 9:00 PM, InshaAllah.
