Preparations are underway for the opening of the portals of Shri Badrinath Dham on May 18.
The temple will open on Brahmamuhurt at 4.15 am on May 18.
The staff, officers of various departments and Chardham Devasthanam Board are in Badrinath Dham and have started the necessary preparations for the opening of the doors.
Snow has been removed from the temple premises. The cleanliness and paintwork are in full swing, the Nagar Panchayat Badrinath has completed sanitation and cleanliness work in the entire Badrinath Dham, as well as repairing work is also going on.
And the water and power system has been restored. Special attention is also being given to social distancing and wearing masks has been made mandatory, informed Uttarakhand Chardham Devasthanam Board.
Various other departments like electricity, drinking water have gathered at Badrinath Dham to see the arrangements.
Meanwhile, the portals of the Kedarnath temple in the Rudraprayag district will be opened for pilgrims on May 17.
The portals were closed in November last year for the winter season.
According to a government advisory, pilgrims are not allowed to visit these religious places in view of the coronavirus outbreak.
Curfew Pass Necessary For Movement: Details inside
Given confusion among people, the J&K Administration has made curfew passes mandatory for movement. J&K is witnessing a spike in corona cases and is adopting all the measures to curb the cases. The markets are deserted but a little movement of people can be seen on the roads.

As per the sources, large traffic jams have been seen in various areas of Srinagar. Along with the traffic jams many traffic violations have also been reported from Kashmir. All the working employees, media officials who have to go to their offices have to carry the curfew pass. Although the District Administration, IG, SSP have made it clear that the ID cards of media officials will work as curfew passes but many police officials refuse to accept the ID card.
The administration has deployed large security forces to ensure that people should follow the covid curfew. Many roads have been sealed with barbed wires and barricades. The curfew passes can be obtained from the Deputy Commissioner’s office. The administration should release a clear order that all can get the curfew pass.

Grenade Attack At Police Nakka In Samba District
A grenade lobbed by an unidentified person on security forces in Nud Police Naka in Samba district.
Police officials said no one was injured and a search operation launched.
