In a firm crackdown on cross-border terrorism, Jammu and Kashmir Police have attached an immovable property belonging to a Pakistan-based terror handler and launch commander of a banned terrorist outfit under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
The action has been taken in connection with FIR No. 194/2024 registered at Police Station Gursai, District Poonch. The attached property comprises 04 Marlas and 02 Sarsai of agricultural land, located at Village Nar, Nakka Majhari area of Tehsil Mendhar, District Poonch. The market value of the property is assessed at approximately ₹10 lakh.
The property belongs to Rafiq Nai alias Sultan, son of Mohd Afsar, a resident of the area, who is presently operating from Pakistan as a terror handler and launch commander of the banned terrorist outfit Tahreek-ul-Mujahideen / Jammu Kashmir Ghaznavi Force.
According to police, the accused is actively involved in weapons and narcotics smuggling, facilitating infiltration of trained terrorists, and reviving terror activities in the Poonch–Rajouri sector. Rafiq Nai @ Sultan has been declared a Designated Individual Terrorist and is wanted in multiple serious criminal cases registered across different years at Police Stations Gursai and Mendhar under IPC, RPC, Arms Act, Explosive Substances Act, and UAPA provisions.
The attachment was carried out by a joint team of Police Station Mendhar and the Revenue Department, following all due legal procedures, including verification, documentation, and approval from the competent authority.
Police officials said the move is part of a sustained strategy to dismantle the financial and logistical networks of terrorism, ensuring that those involved in anti-national activities are deprived of their resources.
District Police Poonch reaffirmed its commitment to act firmly and lawfully against terrorism and assured the public that such actions will continue in the interest of peace, public safety, and national security.
