Shopian, Dec 23: A minor boy died due to suffocation at his home in the Ramnagri area of Shopian on Tuesday, officials said.
The child was rushed to District Hospital Shopian, where doctors declared him brought dead.
According to officials, the boy was sleeping at his residence when some clothing material accidentally fell over him, leading to suffocation. Family members attempted to revive him and immediately took him to the hospital, but he could not be saved.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident, and further proceedings have been initiated as per procedure.
