Poonch, Jan 25: Police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Sunday arrested a man for allegedly posting objectionable and inflammatory content on social media, officials said.
A senior police officer said the accused has been identified as Onkar Singh (60), a resident of the Kamsar area of Poonch city. He allegedly uploaded content that hurt public sentiments and had the potential to disturb communal harmony and public order.
Taking cognisance of the post, police acted swiftly and took the accused into custody. A case has been registered under relevant provisions of law, and further investigation is underway, the officer said.

An advisory was also issued urging people to exercise restraint and responsibility while using social media. Police cautioned against sharing provocative, misleading or offensive content, which could invite legal action.
