Jammu, Jan 1: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday extended New Year greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, expressing hope for peace, prosperity and collective progress in the Union Territory.

In his message on the eve of New Year 2026, LG Manoj Sinha said the New Year brings fresh hopes and new opportunities in life. He urged people to work together to build a happier and healthier society and to take Jammu and Kashmir to new heights of development and prosperity.

“Let us dedicate ourselves to the welfare and progress of the nation and be ready to face future challenges while preserving our core values and shaping our aspirations,” the Lieutenant Governor said, praying that the New Year brings joy and prosperity to all.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also conveyed his warm greetings to the people, wishing them peace, good health and prosperity in the year ahead. He said the New Year offers an opportunity to reflect on shared goals and renew the collective commitment towards inclusive and balanced development across the region.

“May the New Year usher in harmony, optimism and fresh opportunities for progress,” the Chief Minister said, calling upon people to work together with dedication and mutual respect for the overall well-being of society.

Urging all sections of society, especially the youth, to play a positive role, Omar Abdullah said their active participation is vital for promoting peace, unity and sustainable growth. He expressed hope that the coming year would be marked by stability, economic growth and stronger bonds of brotherhood across Jammu and Kashmir.
