An amount of Rs. 1.00 Crore (Rupees One Crore only) has been deposited with the Mining Department on account of penalties imposed for violations of mining regulations. The penalties were levied against individuals/contractors involved in unauthorized extraction, transportation, and other breaches under the provisions of the Jammu & Kashmir Minor Mineral Concession, Storage, Transportation of Minerals and Prevention of Illegal Mining Rules, 2016, as amended from time to time.
The said amount has been realized after following due legal procedure and has been duly credited into the Government Treasury under the appropriate revenue head.
The Government reiterates its commitment to strict enforcement of mining laws to curb illegal mining and safeguard public resources and revenue.
