Jammu, Jan 29: Jammu Police have recovered gold ornaments worth approximately ₹50 lakh in a high-profile showroom theft case, though the accused women remain absconding.
The theft occurred on September 20, 2025, when Smt. Shanu Manhas reported the loss of her purse containing gold ornaments while shopping at the Game Changer showroom in Pacca Danga. FIR No. 108/2025 was registered under relevant sections of the law.
During the investigation, the police, led by SHO Inspector Rakesh Mani and assisted by PSI Rajesh Kumar, PSI Paramjeet Singh, and PSI Rakesh under the supervision of SDPO and SP City North, analyzed CCTV footage from the showroom and surrounding areas. The footage identified two non-local women as suspects. Photographs of the suspects were widely circulated across social media, news outlets, and public spaces, including bus stands and crowded areas in multiple states.
Further investigation, including technical analysis of call data records and location information, led officers to Rajgarh District in Madhya Pradesh. Multiple raids there resulted in the recovery of the stolen gold. However, the accused managed to evade arrest during the operation.
One police team remains stationed in Rajgarh to apprehend the suspects, while another returned to Jammu with the recovered property. Authorities said the investigation and search operations are ongoing.
Jammu Police reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding life and property, swiftly investigating crimes, and taking action against organised and inter-state criminal networks to maintain public trust and safety.
