Lucknow , Jan 18 : An IndiGo Airlines flight travelling from Delhi to Bagdogra made an emergency landing at Lucknow airport on Sunday after a bomb threat triggered panic onboard, officials said.
The threat came to light after a handwritten message claiming the presence of a bomb was found on a tissue paper inside the aircraft’s toilet. Following the alert, the flight, operating as 6E-6650, was diverted to Lucknow as a precautionary measure.
According to police officials, the aircraft was carrying over 230 passengers, including adults and infants, along with pilots and cabin crew. The flight landed safely and was immediately moved to an isolation bay at the airport.
Security agencies, including the bomb disposal squad and CISF personnel, cordoned off the area and began a detailed search of the aircraft. All passengers were safely evacuated, screened, and subjected to security checks, while a thorough inspection of the plane is currently underway.
Authorities said the situation remains under close surveillance and further details will be shared after the completion of security checks.
