New Delhi , Jan 10 : National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Friday said India is firmly on course to become a developed nation at the pace set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, adding that the country would keep moving forward even if it were to run on “autopilot.”
Addressing the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue in New Delhi, Doval urged young people to focus on building strong decision-making skills, calling timely and well-judged decisions the most important quality of effective leadership.
He said that while times and generations have changed, the ability to take decisions remains a constant factor that shapes leaders. According to him, India’s development is assured, but the real challenge lies in identifying who will lead a developed India and how capable those leaders will be.
Doval stressed that true leadership requires making the right decisions at the right time and implementing them with conviction. He said this applies across all fields, including science, technology, and national security, and advised young people to start developing this ability early.
Highlighting the role of national willpower, Doval said the strength of a nation lies in its morale. He noted that wars are not fought for violence itself but to break the will of the opponent and impose terms. Without strong morale and leadership, he said, even the most advanced weapons and resources become ineffective.
He praised the current leadership for guiding India onto a path of rapid progress over the past decade, citing commitment, hard work, and dedication as key drivers of the country’s transformation.
The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2.0 began on Saturday at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi and will continue until January 12. The first edition of the dialogue was held at the same venue in January last year.
