Flight operations at Srinagar International Airport remained severely affected on Saturday due to prevailing adverse weather conditions across several parts of North India, resulting in widespread delays, rescheduling, and cancellations. Dense fog and poor visibility at Srinagar and key destination airports disrupted normal air traffic, forcing airlines to cancel multiple scheduled services.
Airport officials confirmed that, as per the latest update issued till 12:30 PM, a number of flights operating to and from Srinagar have been cancelled for the day. The affected routes include major sectors such as Srinagar–Delhi, Delhi–Srinagar, Srinagar–Jammu, Srinagar–Amritsar, Srinagar–Mumbai, and Srinagar–Ahmedabad. Flights operated by leading carriers including IndiGo, Air India, and Alliance Air feature prominently on the cancellation list.
Officials said that most of the cancellations were attributed to bad weather at Srinagar, Delhi, and other northern airports, which impacted aircraft rotations and operational readiness. Safety considerations, they added, remain the primary reason behind the decision to suspend certain services.
The weather-related disruptions caused inconvenience to passengers, many of whom were seen waiting at the airport for updates on their flights. Airport authorities, however, stated that airline staff are actively assisting passengers with information related to rescheduling, refunds, and alternate travel options, wherever feasible.
Passengers planning to travel through Srinagar Airport have been strongly advised to check the latest flight status with their respective airlines before proceeding to the airport. Authorities have also recommended allowing additional time for travel and staying in close contact with airlines for real-time updates.
Officials further noted that flight operations will continue to depend on weather improvement across the region. Passengers have been urged to remain patient, as weather-related disruptions are beyond the control of airlines and airport authorities.
